Filmmaker Baz Luhrmann has given a whole new meaning to yelling cut on a movie set, by running into an obstacle while filming...and cutting his head. The Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom director took one to the noggin on location in Austrailia where he's shooting the F. Scott Fitzgerald 1920's period piece, which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan. According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Gatsby co-producer Anton Monsted says due to "quite a cramped set," Luhrmann "was ducking under the crane and struck his head on the weights on the end of the camera crane.

'M:i-4,' 'Sherlock' Hold Off 'Dragon,' 'Tintin,' 'Zoo' on Friday

Even with three new movies entering the market this week, the top of the box office charts looked awfully familiar this Friday. After expanding to 3,448 locations, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol jumped ahead of Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked to claim first place, a position it should be able to hold throughout the remainder of the holiday weekend. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was fine in fourth place, while The Adventures of Tintin and We Bought a Zoo were unable to lure family audiences in large numbers. The Top 10 earned over $37 million on Friday, which is just a tad up from the same date in 2005 (the last time Dec. 23 landed on a Friday), and it doesn't look like this batch of movies is going to do a whole lot to end 2011 on a high note.

‘Thor 2′ Director Will Be ‘Game Of Thrones’ Helmer Alan Taylor

Exclusive: Marvel Studios has found its Thor 2 director. I’m told that Marvel has set Alan Taylor, who was widely rumored to be on the short list to replace Patty Jenkins. Taylor is an accomplished TV director whose recent credits include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie, and he directed the feature Palookaville. Jenkins got the job but then fell out over differences with Marvel on the sequel. This will put the film back on track to meet its November 15, 2013 release date. The sequel brings back Chris Hemsworth as the hammer-wielding superhero, from a script by Thor co-writer Don Payne. The Kenneth Branagh-directed original grossed $448 million worldwide and launched the star of Hemsworth, who reprised Thor in The Avengers and then played the latter title role opposite Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron in Snow White and the Huntsman for Universal.
