Has one daughter, Sherri Ann (b.1987).

Graduated West Point in 1987 with a degree in mathematics.

Enjoys photography, yoga, backpacking, hiking, reading, music, martial arts, swimming, surfing, biking and nature.

Penned the one-man show, "Walls, Wars and Whiskey" about his experiences growing up in upstate New York and in the military.

Older brother to Lynne Valley and Jennifer Valley.
